The Folklore and Ecclesiastical Museum is situated in the 18th century Monastery of Prophet Elias in Santorini Pyrgos area. The collection ranges from ecclesiastical items and antiques, to religious icons of the 15th century Cretan School and hagiographies from the 18th century, to clerical vestments and 8th century manuscripts, a wide range of religious texts, a 20th century metal cross and Archbishop’s Gregorius the fifth tiara decorated with diamonds. The exhibition also includes folklore artifacts such as everyday utensils and traditional agricultural equipment.
