the most traditional Wine Museum in Santorini

In a warm place build in the shadow of the rocks, an almost sacred atmosphere floods the space of our wine museum. A traditional place handcrafted with stones created to accommodate the old distillery and the old winery under the perfect conditions for wine production. Now preserved like the years of its glory, it is ready as a museum to warmly welcome all those who are seeking for the secret paths of winemaking to discover the traditional production methods behind the fine taste.

From the old distillery…

In the old rakidio, the distilling equipment is preserved intact along with the ovens of the old steading. Another unique feature of the museum is its tomato paste processing plant as it was in the pre-industrial era of a century and a half ago. It is the only equipment of its kind that has been preserved to our days.

…to the old winery

The “kanaves” of the old 1861 winery are the display space of the works of art. Their architecture itself is a work of art on its merit. Visitors can view on display the basins reserved for the grape treading (known as “patitiria” in Greek meaning press with my feet), each for the crafting of a different kind of wine, the must wells (“lena”) and the old “maggano” (wine mangle).
